Video pick - week 25

It was my girl's birthday on Sunday, so I decided to dedicate today's post to her. Don't mind me, I was supposed to do this on Sunday but I was a little too occupied. Anyway, here it is, Belated birthday greetings, Mrs Beyonce Knowles-Carter

I carefully selected this particular video because it is her most recent and most importantly, the comments are just hilarious or more like pathetic :)
Some say the video is fetish and the many other bla blas..
How does this suggest anything apart from the fact that someone put some creativity into making it?
It's called 'video effects/cinematography', Smh!
And for the extra sheen and glow on her skin, if you try baby oil with some glitters, it should work; if it doesn't, try falling into a tub filled with groundnut oil (the very concentrated and smelly one), I'm very certain that would work. People are just so funny at times.

Anyway here, video: 1+1 By Beyonce
Like always, EnjoY!

Ok when I first heard about the 'illuminati' thing surrounding Roc Nation (especially Jay Z the main person in question here) to be sincere, I believed it. And that's based on the evidences at hand, the continuous suggestive lyrics by him, the eye of the horus symbol he kept throwing on stage and in his videos etc..
Seeing all these things as they added up made sense. But really for this Beyonce's video right here, I feel like it's totally unnecessary for people to start getting all paranoid. I mean when people start drawing all these unnecessary instances, it even questions the illuminati hullabaloo to start with.
Well, for me I don't take things hook line and sinker, I always need people to convince me to believe whatever they want me to and I will gladly and thankfully do so, until then, I 'll just say that was a beautiful performance by Beyonce as usual.

And a lil bonus :)

Have a great weekend lovelies!

- VALENTINE SPECIAL -

People stop the Valentine craze and Bruno Mars, please stop the Grenade madness!!!

I don't care about valentine's day but everybody around me seems to care so much about it.
I mean love is not supposed to be restricted to a one day celebration. We need to show love every single day of our lives,  so peeps please chill out with the VAL VAL VAL excess talks.

First and foremost, let's clear this Bruno Mar's catching a grenade and jumping infront of a train fuss.
Bruno must have been on a very hot spot to think of that...(well I think) but one thing is sure, he's really serious. Who knows? he might just do it for val's day :)
I mean he did a remix to it and just basically replayed the whole song (cos I don't really see the part Lil Wayne played in that remix). You can't make the same mistake twice, he just wanted to resound it that he means exactly what he said :)

Oh poor guy please don't kill yourself! I think he's a very cool guy (well I love his songs)

Here it is, you might want to check it out, if you haven't seen it yet:

Holy crap! I need to address this

Please guys, nobody is asking you to kill yourself, if someone does, runnnnnnnnn and don't look back!

Now every girl wants to put that on replay, use it as their ringtone; you know, just make sure you know they like it, like they are trying to indirectly say something.
What's it with the whole craze for this song anyway?

Seriously if you try to jump infront of a train, I don't care if it's for me, I'll just scream a big "fail, fail" or maybe "dumb, dumb".
Just incase you were asking, no, I won't do the same. I'm sure you already know that.

If you are trying to commit suicide, it's a near perfect way, BUT!  if you're trying to show her that you love her, please Refrain! Refrain!!!

Funny enough, a lot of girls will be played using that line today...
Smart boy: Baby you know I'll catch a grenade for you
Dumb chic: Awwwwwwww that means so muchhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!
or....
Smart chic: No love, I'll rather watch an action movie for the thrill. Please do easier things, like...... (just be a little creative for the ....). Duh!!! It's val's day and  not the world war.

Well you'll have to choose...hehehe

Take home message:   "There are better ways of doing things".
These words might be very important today.
Nevertheless, enjoy your day!

Happy Valentine's day!!!

Merry Christmas!

Yay! It’s that time of the year again.
No need for “please Christmas don’t delay” cos it’s here already :)
I look around the whole place, everywhere is decorated; shops, streets, homes…. everybody, just conforming to the season.
I love Christmas because it brings the year to a wrap and most especially because it’s the season of love. It’s the time when I’m reminded the most of how great love is.

Reach out to somebody this season, try to be the reason for the smile on their face, show somebody some love. It might not be anything very grand but remember that one great attribute of love is that it portrays giving.  There is no love without “giving” and giving here doesn’t necessarily refer to material things/substance…. When you love someone, you give them your heart, your trust, devotion…. But don’t forget that you must give something for it to be described as love.

When you’re all dressed up, rushing out to celebrate this season, don’t forget to put a smile on someone’s face, someone that may really be in need of that smile. Look around your neighbourhood, there’s always that certain someone.

In the spirit of love, here’s something for you :)
Love came down at Christmas by Jars of clay
It‘s always been my favourite version of this song.
Enjoy!!!

Have a lovely, merry Christmas!
See y’all in 2011!

Signing out……….

NIGERIA at 50!

I asked my sister what the line up of events for the day would look like, and she gave me a very promising one.
"At first, we'll go to the stadium and watch the march past, then later, to see the 'night of a 1010 laughs' and maybe...."
"A 1010 laughs?" I cut in rather hastily.
Well, when I left a few years back, it was still 'a thousand laughs'.

"Nigerians must survive", she replied.
Looking at her face, I'm sure she meant every bit of what she said.

We watched the pupils and the students march in their 'best' uniforms.
The dancers performed like they had never done before. Happiness and enthusiasm emanated from within them, it was almost like they were wearing their hearts on their sleeves.
Although, the sun was shining down on us like it was trying to prove a point, I still felt a certain joy right inside of me. I'm sure my sister felt it too cos I saw it in her eyes, and in that of most of the people that surrounded us.
I tried to curtail my emotions a lot, especially when I saw some children hanging down from trees, just in an attempt to catch a glimpse of what was going on; and also when I noticed a cluster of some very young hawkers trying to peep through the large crowd from a distance.

It was but a long day!

We summed up the day at the venue of the 'night of a 1010 laughs'.
I looked keenly at every performer on the stage, like I was trying to run some examinations on them just with the help of my eyes. They all seemed to look very fulfilled as they came out in their flamboyant clothes and talks that suggested that of a person that was living the 'perfect life'.
I looked around the audience, everyone seemed to have a certain similarity, they were all well adorned, laughing and cheering too.

I had a lot on my mind, I hope I didn't show it?
One would never stop to wonder why everybody was so happy.
Maybe  a lot of people didn't bother, but I did.
Well maybe it wasn't exactly happiness, maybe it was something else that was even less describable, I thought.

I tried to put together all the memories of the day;
...The hawkers
...The dancers
....The performers
....The audience
I had to resolve to one conclusion-this was nothing but pride!
Pride and passion for what belonged to them.

Wow! I exclaimed as I woke up to the sound of my beeping alarm clock. Thank God it at least let me complete the dream before waking me up. I'm sure it would have been so disappointing if I didn't.

I had to remind myself that I was not in Nigeria.
I promised to be in Nigeria to celebrate the next independence day, where I could really feel its significance and the celebration in the air.
Reading about Nigeria was all we did on the 1st of October of the previous years, and maybe some parties to commemorate the event - yea and we didn't forget to remind ourselves that we were 'Nigerians in diaspora'.
I wanted to stay close to where I could hear the speeches by the people that mattered.
It's our 50th, some parts of those 'speeches' just needed to change. I feel like I might miss these important parts, not because they didn't say it, but because I didn't have the right avenue to hear them. I do not want to believe that they would fail to say these things because they have been left unsaid for far too long and I strongly believe that its highly expedient that somebody took the plunge and made mention of them.

I'm happy to wake up to a beautiful morning on the day of Nigeria's 50th independence anniversary still.
"When there is life, there is definitely hope", they say.

I guess I have to put on my computer and check what is happening over there as usual.

Lest I forget, HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY NIGERIANS!
And to the rest of the world, HAPPY OCTOBER 2010!

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

Thank God for several mother's days.
If you happen to realise this later than today, just look out, I'm sure there'll be another mother's day in some place next week or the week after lol. Seriously just check, it never ends or just come up with yours :)

Hmm! I can't believe I missed the one my mother knows, now I can confidently advise people on how to make up for it. You won't blame me, too many of them jireh!!! (trying to console myself).
But actually I couldn't believe it, I'm always the first to remember every event in the house. Everybody's birthday is just mapped out in my brain like some mobile calendar. I tell my father "happy birthday" sometimes and he just cracks out, only to realize that yea! I was the first to remember his birthday as usual. Trust me now, I wait for 12 am on the dot.

Well I don't know what happened on march 14 , I sent a gift home as soon as I realized (fast girl). Of course it takes some days, so who knows? maybe I started sending it on Mother's day afterall and that could be the reason why I didn't bother calling, perhaps I wanted it to be a surprise:)
Anyway I so wanted to make up for it that I would have used even Afghanistan's mother's day. Thank God I didn't miss it afterall, because today is the mother's day that is being recognised in America, Australia, Germany, Canada, Italy, India, Finland, Turkey, Japan and several other countries. (All join, whether its UK, Nigeria, America or Greece, Mother's day is mother's day shikinah!)

So to my sweet mother, (édes anya...had to show off some of my magyar :D) and of course all the wonderful mothers in the world, here's wishing you a beautiful and joyful day.
Sorry...o! And to all the potential mothers, I hail o! Infact na una get today sef
For the guys, don't worry I'll try not to forget father's day esp for the sake of the potential(wannabe) fathers.

So back to Mother's day, I decided to do "Coat of many colours" by Dolly Parton. Firstly, because I like the song. Secondly, because I feel like I can relate to it, and most importantly because my mother likes to sing it a lot.
Enjoy and tell me what you think about my singing...hehehe!

Happy mother's day!
